Gavi di Gavi 2020 (Piedmont) Roberto Sarotto: This superb Gavi offers wonderful quality and is packed with aromas of white flowers and peach, with lively acidity and an appealing mineral finish.
Les Pierrieres 2019 (Bordeaux) Chateau Beaumont: Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon. Aromas of pineapple and grapefruit. On the palate a lovely round mouthfeel, upheld by juicy acidity and a complex finish.
Picpoul de Pinet 2020 (Languedoc) Domaine Reine Juliette: Wonderful clean palate with citrus notes and well weighted fruit with just a hint of sea spray.
Pinot Noir 2019 Puy de Dome (Auvergne) Cave Saint Verny: Jancis Robinson describes this Pinot in glowing terms “Hats off to Cave Saint Verny ….the two wines labelled IGP Puy de Dome (this Pinot Noir and a Chardonnay) are absolute bargains..” Unfortunately we dont have the Chardonnay, but we do have their Pinot which is packed with spciy, red cherry fruit and is utterly moreish.
Le Clos 2019 (Languedoc -Roussillon) Domaine Saint Eugenie: Packed with ripe damson and black cherry fruit with hints of violets. On the palate great precision and depth, with lovely weighted ripe fruit and hints mocha. Stunning.
Rey Don Garcia Rioja Crianza 2016 (Rioja) Bodegas Ruconia: A firm favourite at Beaucatcher. Medium bodied with lots of lively cherry and red berry fruit all wrapped up in attractive (but not intrusive) vanilla oak.
